Abstract:
Objective
To improve the management information of blood products in blood bank,and enhance the safety and rationality of clinical transfusion.
Methods
According to “the Principles for Clinical Management of Blood Products” and “the Standards for Clinical Transfusion Procedure”,the former blood bank management information system was redesigned and established using computer software and network technology in Wuhan Asia Heart Hospital.The new system was used to manage the transfusion work from January 2013 to December 2013,and to assess the performance of the new programs,including specimens bidirectional communication,inventory warning,electronic blood transfusion applications,electronic transfusion reactions record and transfusion efficacy evaluation.
Results
After the application of the new system,the amount of blood typing in 2013 was 22 900,increasing 11% compared to 2012,blood typing mistake was not happened.In 2013,the storage of blood products included 6744 unit erythrocyte,235 100 ml plasma,411 units platelet,and 1492 units cryoprecipitate,none was abandoned due to expiration.There was no mistake in checking out and distributing to patients.In 2013,8824 electronic transfusion applications were received,99% of them met our standards.
Conclusion
The efficiency,safety and rationality of clinical transfusion are enhanced by the new blood bank management information system.
