Abstract:
Objective To analyze the assistant diagnostic value of sialidase and proline aminopeptidase in bacterial vaginosis.
Methods 29 279 specimens were collected in our hospital from January 1 to November 13, 2017 for secretion examination due to infertility. Bacterial vaginosis (BV) was identified by Nugent scoring method. Meanwhile, sialidase and proline aminopeptidase were detected in each specimens.
Results Nugent scoring method have identified 3938 BV positive cases, the positive rate was 13.44%. In these BV cases, the detection rate of sialidase and proline aminopeptidase was significantly lower than that of the two (P<0.05). The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of sialidase for BV were 45.04%, 99.85%, 97.90% and 92.12%, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of proline aminopeptidase were 30.65%, 99.91%, 98.20% and 90.26%, respectively. The sensitivity, specificity and negative predictive value of combined detection of sialidase and proline aminopeptidase were 30.65%, 99.91%, 98.20% and 90.26%, respectively. Positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 54.76%, 99.81%, 97.91% and 93.42% respectively.
Conclusion Both sialidase and proline aminopeptidase are helpful in the diagnosis of BV, and they complement each other. The combined detection of sialidase and proline aminopeptidase is more valuable in the diagnosis of BV.
