Abstract:

Objective

This study aims to quantitatively and qualitatively predict the hot topics of triage research activities through bibliometrical methods, and provide references for research in the field of emergency triage.

Methods

The literature related to international emergency triage studies from January 2016 to December 2020 was retrieved from the Web of Science database, the bibliometrical methods was used to draw the visual map.

Results

A total of 2880 published literatures were retrieved. The number of studies on emergency pre-triage showed an increasing trend annually, and the United States was the country that has carried out the most research in this field. Great vascular obstruction and Manchester Triage System have always been the research hotspots in this field. In addition, the epidemic of COVID-19 is the recent research hotspot.

Conclusions

The prognosis of critical diseases caused by large vessel occlusion, such as acute myocardial infarction and acute stroke, has always been the focus and hotspot in the field of emergency pre-triage, and the use of information technology for pre-triage of COVID-19 patients may become a new research hotspot.
