Abstract:

Object

Applicating of the blood gas and acid-base imbalance analysis CAI software in clinical teaching.

Methods

The blood gas and acid-base imbalance analysis software was used to analyze the clinical blood gas results according to the judgment formula of the national clinical examination operation process, which is applied to the teaching experiment of medical laboratory students,and the unbalance of blood gas acid base in clinical biochemistry test textbook was used as teaching content. All teaching data were obtained from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, including 220 cases(122 males and 98 females).The inclusion requirement was that the blood gas data and electrolyte results of inpatients should be complete, and incomplete data should not be adopted. The included data were illustrated and analyzed by blood gas analysis, including 65 normal cases, 90 simple cases, 41 mixed cases and 24 triple severe cases.

Result

The results of manual judgment and acid-base imbalance analysis software were compared based on the clinical data of 220 patients. The consistency between software judgment and manual judgment was evaluated by Kappa test, and the kappa value was 0.935, P<0.001. At the same time, it also greatly reduced the time of blood gas acid-base imbalance analysis. In the specific application process, the software was further improved, some modules such as exercises, reference materials, teaching materials, teachers' mailbox, latest news of medical laboratory science, forum and bulletin board were added.

Conclusion

The CAI software had high accuracy of blood gas judgment, and is convenient, flexible and fast, and allows diversified teaching methods, which helps students to study independently at any time. Furthermore, it also expands students' scope of knowledge, deepens their expertise, and motivates their interests in learning.
