Abstract:

Sepsis is a systemic inflammatory response caused by serious infection.Due to its high morbidity and mortality, sepsis is a widespread and complex issue in modern critical care.Apolipoproteins(APO)are proteins bound to lipids, their main functions are to modify and influence the activity of the enzymes related to lipoprotein metabolism, meanwhile,APO act as lipoprotein receptor ligands involved in lipoprotein metabolism. In recent years, increasing evidences indicated that a variety of apolipoproteins such as apolipoprotein(apoA-I),apoC-I can bind lipoplysacchanvide(LPS),attenuate inflammatory response, and protect the host. This report reviewed the potential functions of APO in sepsis and its further research.

Key words: Apolipoprotein, Sepsis, Lipopolysaccharide
