Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical analysis and treatment of severe hypertriglycerides in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia following pegaspargase chemotherapy.

Methods

A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data, diagnosis and treatment process of a patient with dyslipidemia after receiving chemotherapy with pegaspargase.

Results

Through communication between the laboratory technician and clinician, timely monitoring of the patient's lipid levels and the administration of lipid-lowering medications successfully reduced the patient's lipid levels to normal. This case highlights the importance of clinical awareness of the significant elevation in lipid levels as an adverse reaction to this class of drugs.

Conclusion

Clinical attention should be paid to the adverse reactions caused by chemotherapy with pegaspargaseand the clinical symptoms and relevant test indicators of patients should be monitored regularly, avoid hypertriglyceridemic acute pancreatitis. This approach ensures smooth and effective treatment for patients, safeguarding their health and well-being.

Key words: acute lymphoblastic leukemia, pegaspargase, extremely severe hyperiglyceridemia
