Abstract:

Standardized bio-specimen is the basic source for genome, functional genomics and clinical research, as well as the key for verification of molecular markers for diagnosis of large sample and drug target validation, rapid transformation and personalized precision diagnosis. Biobank has become to be scientific foundation and high degree of concern about biobank are paid by medical community, life science, bio-pharmaceutical industry, industry circles, capital circles and government. In this situation, rapid development of Biobank has been achieved. However, the China Biobank development is a tremendous task. By the establishment of the China Medical Biotechnology Association Biobank Branch, the National Technical Committee 559 on Bio-specimen of Standardization Administration of China and China Biobank Alliance, a lot of pioneering work on the standardization, specialization, disciplinization, intensity, resource utilization and valuation of biobank has been done to achieve the full application of bio-specimen in bio-pharmaceutical industry and the new era of standardization of China Biobank construction.
