Construction and application of biobank information database for malignant tumors

Abstract:

Objective

Biobank plays an important role in translational cancer research. With the rapid increasing number of biosamples and the diversity of research needs, the traditional spreadsheet management model can not satisfy the needs of large sample number and efficient and centralized management of clinical information. Therefore, it is an urgent need to carry out information management of biobank and to build an information management system for biosamples and clinical information of malignant tumors in order to achieve systematic, standardized and efficient management of biosample information.

Methods

Based on malignant tumor biobank information database, the source and sample information are structurally designed. Through the construction of sample group, sample source group and virtual medical refrigerator, the basic and clinical information of patients with malignant tumors is integrated, and the query and statistics function is realized.

Results

The database of malignant tumor biobank has been successfully constructed, including sample group, sample source group and virtual medical refrigerator group. The application of query and statistics of biosamples has been realized, including the statistics of samples of various cancers, blood samples and tissue samples collected from various departments, and the application of sample tube discharge management.

Conclusions

The database of malignant tumor biobank information is constructed, which has completed data information, reasonable structure design and expansibility of sample group information. The database satisfies the current needs of the information management of biosample data in our hospital, realizes a number of query .statistics application and outbound applications, and provides a reliable guarantee for the research of related malignant tumors.
