Exploration on the construction and operation of medical laboratory in Fangcang shelter hospital

Objective

To explore the construction and operation of medical laboratory of Ningbo Fangcang shelter hospital under the epidemic situation of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) with Omicron variant as the main epidemic strain.

Methods

According to the requirements of the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, the location, layout, staffing and sterilizing management of medical laboratory of Ningbo Fangcang shelter hospital were designed and constructed, and constantly improved and optimized in practice.

Results

The laboratory operated smoothly and completed the testing task of more than 2500 patients in Ningbo Fangcang shelter hospital.

Conclusions

The establishment and management of medical laboratory is an important part of hospital operation. This paper summarizes and provides experience for the subsequent construction and operation of medical laboratory in Fangcang shelter hospital.
