Abstract:

Neural guidance factor 4 (netrin-4) is a kind of secreted protein; it exerts an influence on physiological functions such as neurocyte growth and migration through binding to its various receptors.Recent studies show that netrin-4 can also regulate cell growth in the non-nervous system. It plays a key role in regulating angiogenesis and promoting lymphogenesis, which influences the occurrence, development and metastasis of tumors; netrin-4 has distinct effects on tumor cell proliferation and migration in vitro experiments, this could be related to binding to different receptors. Moreover, tumor cell growth is associated with the concentration of netrin-4, and low expression of netrin-4 in tumor cells is involved in methylation. Therefore, netrin-4 and its receptors are of great importance in the diagnosis and treatment of tomors, and are likely to be new tumor therapeutic targets in the future.
