Abstract:

Sepsis leads to multi-organ dysfunction that threatens patients′life. It is caused by a deregulated host response to infection. It has been found that the late mortality of septic was significantly increased; the probability of rehospitalisation due to recurrent infection was also increased, and the infection pathogen of sepsishad certain characteristics. In addition, sepsis can cause cognitive impairment including depression and delirium. Sepsis is also the risk factor of subsequent cardiovascular diseases. Timely rescue to reduce short-term organ dysfunction can reduce mortality and reduce long-term effects of sepsis.
