Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the role of HBV RNA detection in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B(CHB) patients.

Methods

HBV DNA and HBV RNA in serum of 56 patients with CHB were detected by real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR, and HBV surface antigen in serum of the same period was quantitatively detected by electrochemiluminescence. The Wilcoxon sign rank test was conducted on the detection values of HBV RNA and HBV DNA in 56 patients. Then, Spearman correlation analysis was made between the two values and the quantitative value of HBsAg to analyze the correlation.

Results

The serum of 56 patients with clinically diagnosis of CHB was positive for HBV RNA and HBsAg were, and 7 of them were negative for HBV DNA. The difference between HBV RNA and HBV DNA detection values was statistically significant (P<0.05). The HBV RNA and HBV DNA load were analyzed separately with HBsAg quantitation, and there was no correlation between HBV and HBsAg (all P>0.05).

Conclusions

The positive detection rate of HBV RNA and HBsAg was higher than that of HBV DNA. The positive detection of HBsAg and HBV RNA is consistent.

Key words: HBV RNA, HBV DNA, HBsAg, chronic hepatitis B
