Abstract:

The demands of public medical services are consistently increasing in the recent years. The amount of samlples for bacterial and fungal examination is also soring and brings a great challenge to the clinical microbiology laboratories. Current working concepts, testing methods and workflows can not satisfy the demands of laboratory microbiological diagnosis. Yet the renewal of knowledge, applications of novel equipments and testing assays has made the full microbiology laboratory automation feasible. It is expected to introduce revolutionary changes in laboratory diagnosis of bacterial and fungal infectious diseases.
